WYETH – Interview with Filmmaker Glenn Holsten

PBS' American Masters tackles the world of American Art with it's thorough series "Artists Flight", which looks into four artists and their lives.  Documentary filmmaker Glenn Holsten gives us WYETH.  Glenn chatted with me about his documentary career, diving into the world of Andrew Wyeth and much more.

WYETH tells the story of one of America’s most popular, but least understood, artists – Andrew Wyeth. Through unprecedented access to Wyeth’s family members, including sons Jamie and Nicholas Wyeth, and never-before-seen archival materials from the family’s personal collection and hundreds of Wyeth’s studies, drawings and paintings, American Masters presents the most complete portrait of the artist yet — bearing witness to a legacy just at the moment it is evolving.

Glenn and I chatted about his many documentaries, how he looked into the world of Andrew Wyeth, his working with drones to capture scenes in the doc, Pennyslvania, and much more.

Premieres Friday, September 7 at 10:00PM on PBS (check local listings)
