THE SECRET ART OF HUMAN FLIGHT – A Review by John Strange

THE SECRET ART OF HUMAN FLIGHT – A Review by John Strange

The Secret Art of Human Flight is about a grieving widower.  At that point in the description of this film, the story takes a sharp turn into a realm that Rod Serling would have recognized in an instant.  For, in his grief, Ben Grady (Grant Rosenmeyer) stumbles across a video of a man who can fly.  And if you can find his website, you can find out how (for a price).

With a name like “Mealworm”, how could you NOT trust the guy, right?  Well, Ben’s sister Lisa (Lucy DeVito) and her police officer husband Tom (Nican Robinson) don’t seem to think he’s honest.  His rap sheet seems to bear that out.  Paul Raci plays this character masterfully.

But that’s not Ben’s greatest problem.  The death of his wife is being investigated by

Detective Reyes (Rosa Arredondo). She feels that Ben is responsible for his wife’s death.

All of this makes Ben’s desire to fly much, much, more difficult to accomplish.

Will he fly or die (or maybe go to jail)?  H.P. Mendoza does a great job with Jesse Orenshein’s script.  You are left questioning everything you think you know right up until the very end!  This is a fun film!

And while you’re watching the film, keep your eyes peeled for H.P.’s cameo!
