A FASTER HORSE tells the story of the Ford Mustang, one of the world's most iconic and recognizable cars.
It follows the team entrusted with upholding the legacy of the brand in creating the 2015 model, now 50 years from the original release, while exploring the parallels that exist between past and present day. From A Faster Horse Website
Interview with Director David Gelb:
David and I started our chat off by discussing how he got attached to this project, via Award-winning Producer Nigel Sinclair.
David explains how meeting Chief Engineer, Dave Pericak, gave him his perfect hook into the heart of the documentary.
The film does a great job of not only showcasing the modern Ford team, Dave Pericak and people like Kemal Curic and Hau Thai-Tang, but I was really amazed at the interviews with the original Ford developers. Lee Iacocca is a well known name, but getting to hear Hal Sperlach, Jack Telnack, Gale Halderman and Arjay Miller was really fasinating. David explained how John Clor was hugely impactful in this side of the epic Mustang story.
My last question to David was about his tremendous team. DP Will Basanta & Editor Isaac Hagy he's known since USC and recently he's found a great duo for his music composers in Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans.

Vimeo has partnered with TheatriCast, a new demand-driven distribution and marketing initiative between ticketing company Tugg and film marketing agency Different Drummer, to release A FASTER HORSE in theaters for an exclusive one-night event on Thursday, October 8th. The special event will take place in 40+ markets and provide early access to auto and Mustang enthusiasts across the country. Following the TheatriCast release, fans across the country will be able to bring the film to their local theater with Tugg.
A FASTER HORSE will open in theaters on October 9th.
