Fans across the country can watch the much-anticipated match-up between the reigning boxing kings of the United States and Mexico when NCM Fathom Events, Mayweather Promotions, Golden Boy Promotions, Canelo Promotions, SHOWTIME PPV® and O’Reilly Auto Parts bring boxing’s biggest star Floyd “Money” Mayweather and Super Welterweight World Champion Canelo Alvarez to the big screen. In what is anticipated to be one of the biggest fights in boxing history, both Mayweather and Canelo will defend their undefeated records in an action-packed, live broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. on Mexican Independence Day weekend. “The One: Mayweather vs. Canelo” will be broadcast to select theaters nationwide on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET / 8:00 p.m. CT / 7:00 p.m. MT / 6:00 p.m. PT / 5:00 p.m. AK / 3:00 p.m. HI.
In addition to the explosive main event, Unified Super Lightweight World Champion Danny “Swift” Garcia and WBC Interim Super Lightweight World Champion Lucas “The Machine” Matthysse will meet in a bout fans have been clamoring to see. Garcia vs. Matthysse will anchor the fight’s undercard with additional bouts to be announced shortly.

His last fight against Four-Division World Champion Robert Guerrero on May 4, 2013 not only showed his superior boxing skills, but it also revealed his determination and dedication to stay the best in the sport.
At only 23 years of age, the pride of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Canelo Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO’s) has emerged as a Mexican icon, standing side-by-side with his country’s greatest sporting legends. A fighting phenom, Canelo has fought professionally since 2005 when he was only 15 years old. By 2011, he earned his first world championship by defeating Matthew Hatton for the WBC Super Welterweight belt. Canelo has since successfully defended his title six times defeating Ryan Rhodes, Alfonso Gomez, Kermit Cintron, Sugar Shane Mosley, Josesito Lopez and, most recently, with a spirited unanimous decision win over Austin Trout, setting up his fight against Mayweather.
The fighting pride of Philadelphia, Danny “Swift” Garcia (26-0, 16 KO’s) has ascended to the top of the boxing world in recent years with increasingly impressive performances that have shown off his skill, power and heart. Since winning the world title against Erik Morales in 2012, Garcia has defended his crown with wins over Morales (in a rematch), Amir Khan and Zab Judah, cementing his place as one of the best in the world.
Trelew, Argentina’s Lucas “The Machine” Matthysse (34-2, 32 KO’s) built his fearsome reputation with hands of stone that have sent opponent after opponent crashing to defeat. Currently the owner of a six-fight winning streak with six knockouts, Matthysse is coming off of a spectacular third-round knockout of World Champion Lamont Peterson that ignited the boxing world and set up this showdown with Garcia.

NCM Fathom Events, Mayweather Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions first teamed up in September of 2009 to bring the highly successful presentation of Floyd Mayweather vs. Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez fight to theaters, followed by four more Mayweather bouts including “May Day: Mayweather vs. Guerrero” earlier this year.
