ETERNAL SPRING (長春) – Interview with Filmmaker Jason Loftus

Eternal Spring (長春) is a riveting documentary about how the banned spiritual group Falun Gong hijacked a state TV station in China.  The event happened 2 decades ago in March of 2022 and the aftermath still reverberates today.  Filmmaker Jason Loftus talked with our Gadi Elkon about the harrowing reality behind the events, the journey of artist/illustrator Daxiong, the visual animation techniques and so much more!

Combining present-day footage with 3D animation inspired by Daxiong’s art, Eternal Spring retraces the event on its 20th anniversary, and brings to life an unprecedented story of defiance, harrowing eyewitness accounts of persecution, and an exhilarating tale of determination to speak up for political and religious freedoms, no matter the cost.

The award-winning documentary has a spotlight screening at Dances With Films festival in LA this Wednesday evening.  Jason Loftus and Gadi talked about the lengthy odyssey of making this film and all the incredible people, places and stories that make this 20 year journey so important.
