Fantastic Fest Announces Work-In-Progress Selections and Film Previews For Latin American Genre Film Market

Fantastic Fest is proud to announce work-in-progress selections and film previews for the second edition of its international genre co-production market: Fantastic Market | Mercado Fantastico. The market runs from September 18-20, 2014 in Austin, Texas. Fantastic Fest runs from September 18-25, 2014

"These work-in-progress selections represent a broad range of styles and subject matter," says market director Rodney Perkins. "Although the films are very different, they share one thing in common: they are all the result of an intense original vision that is completely in sync with the mission of Fantastic Market."

In addition to the work-in-progress screenings, Fantastic Market will also screen a special selection of previews, clips, and teasers of Latin American genre films in development and post-production. Finally, the market has added an additional pitch project from Argentina entitled REMORA.

 

The works-in-progress selections are as follows:

SCHERZO DIABOLICO

Mexico/USA

TRES ESCAPULARIOS is about a country at war that takes the battle field to a beautiful and quiet caribbean beach to perform a killing.

 

FRONDOSO EDÉN DEL CORAZÓN (SPLENDOROUS GARDEN OF THE HEART)

FRONDOSO EDÉN DEL CORAZÓNis a trippy mix of live action, rotoscope animation and CGI that tells the story of Diego, a man whose idyllic life is shattered when he takes home a hideous, hungry creature that produces the key ingredient of a powerful hallucinogenic drug that he's addicted to.
