Filmmaker and Producer Rashid Masharawi joined our Gadi Elkon for an in-depth chat about the film, FROM GROUND ZERO.
Palestine’s Official Submission for the 2025 Academy Awards, From Ground Zero, is a collection of revealing stories from 22 Palestinian filmmakers living through war, who capture their lives in Gaza amidst war.
Gadi and Rashid talked about From Ground Zero’s tough time with the Cannes International Film Festival. Rashid explained the curation process behind the project, how the footage was even delivered from Gaza, and the harsh reality of the filming process. Masharawi would go on to highlight why a film like this is important to so many.
