GENNDY TARTAKOVSKY’S PRIMAL: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON – A Blu-ray/DVD Review by John Strange
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-raytm I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.
As I spoke about in my first season review, Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal is a different beast than anything I have ever watched. Genndy and his team have developed a show with, basically, no dialog. In the second season, we have dialog spoken by supporting characters, but it is not translated from whatever language the team and their voice-actors decided to use so we are still gathering all of our impressions from actions rather than their words.
In the single bonus extra, Genndy and his team with Aaron LaPlante (the voice, if you will, of the main character, Spear) discuss how they decided to enhance the show in season two by adding new characters.
This change gives the show a whole new look while honestly changing nothing that truly matters to Spear and Fang. Other than the addition of the search for Mira, Spear’s love interest. That search leads the pair into every adventure and exciting encounter across the ten episodes that comprise Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal: The Complete Second Season.
I was fascinated to watch (binge watch, actually) the season and the adventure progress. The writing team and the animators (still Studio La Cachette in France) did an excellent job with this show. They hit this one out of the park again with this 5-star offering.
This show may not be for everyone, but I was absolutely blown away! Try it, I think you will be, as well!
