League of Legends (LoL), the most played PC game in the world with millions of players and fans and the key driver of the explosive growth of Esports, is gearing up for Worlds 2018 – a 24-team international competition kicking off on October 1st in South Korea. Players will battle through various stages of the competition to win The Summoner’s Cup. Considered the “World Cup” of the multi-million dollar Esports market, LoL is an event not to be missed this fall.

Chris Hopper (Chopper), Head of North American Esports at Riot Games, oversees the operation of the North American League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS). Under his leadership, the NA LCS incorporated a franchise model, combining endemic operators such as Team SoloMid, Cloud9, and Team Liquid with traditional sports teams such as the Golden State Warriors, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Houston Rockets into a single property. He has worked tirelessly to professionalize the Esports industry, attracting sponsors such as State Farm & Jersey Mike’s and advocating for players’ salaries.
