Mahesh Bhatt & Vinta Nanda screened MANGO GIRLS

Mahesh Bhatt and Vinta Nanda have joined hands for MANGO GIRLS and they arranged a special screening of the documentary at Acee – The Third Eye office in Andheri (W). MANGO GIRLS is a documentary based on the girl child. In this film director Kunal Sharma shows how the people of Dharhara, a small village in the district of Bhagalpur, Bihar prevent female infanticides by planting ten mango trees when a girl child is born. Within a span of five to seven years fruits of these trees take care of the education, wedding and well being of the girl. This practice has been followed by them for more than 200 years now.

Mahesh Bhatt says, “I am glad to see that people like Robert Carr and Kunal Sharma have taken the initiative to make a film like this. I expect to see more and more of these films in the future.”

Other than Mhesh Bhatt, Vinta Nanda, Robert Carr and Kunal Sharma, filmmakers Veena Bakshi, George Mathews and Swapna were present also present at the do.
