The 33rd Annual MARIACHI USA presented by Verizon music festival will ignite the stage on Saturday, June 18, 2022 with an incredible show featuring the best mariachis from the US and Mexico. This year’s show will honor Vicente Fernandez, an icon of ranchera music, with a special tribute that will have mariachi fans on their feet crying “Volver, Volver, Volver…” as well as other fan favorites made popular by the music legend. MARIACHI USA has become an annual tradition and is the longest running show at the Hollywood Bowl which this year celebrates its 100th season, marking the end of the iconic venue’s first century, and the beginning of a brand-new era.
“MARIACH USA joins in the 100th celebration of the Hollywood Bowl and will sing rancheras all night long including those made popular by late iconic ‘Chente’,” said Rodri Rodriguez, Founder, Producer and Host of MARIACHI USA. “Rancheras is a music genre that dates back to early 1900’s (some say early 1800’s), thus it will be like great-grandma singing Las Mañanitas to grandma on June 18th!”
This year’s MARIACHI USA line-up includes an array of amazing mariachi groups including GRAMMY® Award-Winning Mariachi Divas, and direct from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlan and Mariachi Estrella de Mexico, Los Angeles favorite Mariachi Los Reyes, Mariachi Lindas Mexicanas, and featuring Mi Tierra Ballet Folklórico.
Doors open at 4pm, the show starts promptly at 6pm and is jam-packed with 4 1/2 hours of puro mariachi from beginning to end. Fans will not want to miss the half-time jam when the winner of the JARRITOS MARIACHI USA Talent Search will perform live in front of 17,000 adoring mariachi fans. And let’s not forget the spectacular fireworks finale to complete the evening. Fans are encouraged to arrive as early as 2pm and enjoy festivities in the Plaza. From 2pm – 5pm Verizon will be hosting a VIP party pre-show at the Bowl Museum Patio for Verizon customers on a first-come first-served basis based on capacity. At the Plaza, fans will also enjoy performances by the MARIACHI USA Foundation students and sampling bites of Del Real Foods, El Comal, Tajin and others.
