This Thursday through Saturday is the first annual North Texas VETFEST. The fundraiser is a benefit for the Veterans Institute for Film and Media. BATTLEFIELD: HOME – BREAKING THE SILENCE is the closing film for the festival and Director Anita Holsapple spoke with our Gadi Elkon about the movie, the festival and much more.
In an effort to unravel her own journey of dealing with PTSD and the aftermath of war, a Vietnam era military child speaks with multi-generational family members and exposes the unflinching impact of war, and the failing systems that continue the legacy of trauma from generation to generation.
Filmed over a 9-year period, the documentary unexpectedly becomes a pilgrimage of forgiveness and understanding from a daughter to her dad.
From Battlefield Home.
The film will close out the festival on Friday evening. Festival information found below.
