Oxford Film Festival to Host Halloween Double Feature Bash

Oxford Film Festival will be hosting a Halloween Double Feature Bash on October 31st at the Powerhouse, 413 14th Street, from 7 to midnight as their annual fall fundraiser. General admission tickets may be purchased in advance for $30 or $50 for a VIP guest pass; all proceeds will go to benefit the 2018 Oxford Film Festival.

On October 31st, the Powerhouse will be open for the Oxford Film Festival’s Halloween Double Feature Bash. Doors open at 6:30, and the event will begin with a screening of Halloween at 7pm with the Rocky Horror Picture show to follow at 9pm. Costumes are encouraged and the gallery will have popcorn, candy, and a full cash bar available.

Tickets are available for purchase online with several options. General admission tickets may be purchased for $30 and a prop bag is available for $10. Limited VIP guest passes will be sold for $50 and include $10 access to both screenings, a Rocky Horror prop bag, snacks, and beverages as well as reserved seating and access to the private party room. In addition, you may enter the raffle for $5 to win a free VIP pass to the Oxford Film Festival. Volunteer opportunities are also available throughout the event. A cast of Rocky Horror characters will help guide the audience through the screening experience.

“Rocky Horror is a classic fun way to spend Halloween and after last year’s success, we decided to double the fun,” said Melanie Addington, executive director of the Oxford Film Festival. “This event is the perfect way to spend your Halloween night, and all proceeds will go directly to the upcoming 2018 Oxford Film Festival.”

The Oxford Film Festival was founded in 2003 to bring exciting, new and unusual films (and the people who create them) to North Mississippi. The annual five-day festival screens short and feature-length films in both showcase and competition settings, including narrative and documentary features and shorts; Mississippi narratives, documentaries and music videos, and narrative, documentary, animated and experimental shorts. The festival is a 501c3 not-for- profit organization.
