SATURN RETURN – Interview with Filmmaker Isaki Lacuesta

Our Gadi Elkon spoke with Filmmaker Isaki Lacuesta about his latest film, SATURN RETURN.

Late 1990s. Art and culture are in full swing in Granada. Against that background, an indie band is about to change the music scene in Spain. Just before creating their new album, the band is going through its worst possible moment.

Gadi and Isaki spoke about the origins of the story, the importance of the location for the film and the band that influenced the project.  Isaki was able to discuss the technical choices on top of the emotional connection of making Saturn Return.

Isaki’s latest feature film is Spain’s official submission for the upcoming 97th Academy Awards.

Shortlists for the 97th Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

Nominations for the 97th Academy Awards will be announced on Friday, January 17, 2025.
