Filmmaker SJ Creazzo brings to life his long-time friend Rich Cirillo’s heartbreaking story, SKIPPING STONES. SJ Creazzo and debut Star Gabrielle Kalomiris talked with our Gadi Elkon about the film.
Filled with grief and guilt, David Travers (Nathaniel Ansbach) returns home to confront the painful memories of his past. It’s been almost a decade since his involvement in a terrible accident that caused the death of his best friend Bobby. This tragedy has torn apart both Bobby and David’s families and turned their small-town upside down. Meanwhile Bobby’s younger sister Amanda (Gabrielle Kalomiris) feels trapped under the weight of her parents’ grief and is on the verge of suicide. Over the course of this emotional rollercoaster, secrets are revealed, lessons are learned and David comes to understand that saving Amanda is his one chance at redemption. But redemption comes with a price.
Gabrielle gives a dynamic performance in her feature film debut and the movie marks a return for filmmaker SJ Creazzo. The grief-filled plot is lightened and strengthened by tremendous cinematic feel and superb acting. Talking with Steve and Gabi we discussed Rick Cooks cinematography, getting to shoot in the Catskills, the physicality in Gabi’s performance and much more!
