Just over 8 years ago I came across DESSA's first solo album, A Badly Broken Code, and have been a fan ever since. It was my delight to see that Dessa would be at this year's Texas Book Festival discussing her book of essays MY OWN DEVICES: TRUE STORIES FROM THE ROAD ON MUSIC, SCIENCE, AND SENSELESS LOVE.
