THE ORDER – A Review by John Strange
The Order is based on the non-fiction book The Silent Brotherhood by Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt. A group of men are staging armed robberies in the Pacific Northwest, baffling the local police. An FBI agent, Terry Husk (Jude Law) begins to suspect that the men are part of a domestic terrorist group.
This is a story that plays out slowly as the FBI and law enforcement try to get a handle on the perpetrators before they can get to their endgame. As the LEOs get closer to the terrorists, the pace goes into higher and higher gears.
The cast is excellent. Nicholas Hoult plays Bob Matthews, the leader of the white supremacist terrorist splinter group. And Tye Sheridan is the local LEO who assists Agent Husk.
The Order is dark as should be expected from a story of this ilk. And it’s a period piece set in the early 80s. For those of you who like watching edgy films with a basis in truth, this is a film you need on your “Must Watch” list!
