USA FILM FESTIVAL – A SONG FOR CESAR – Interview with Directors Andres Alegria and Abel Sanchez.

The life and legacy of Cesar Chavez and those involved in the farmworker movement are showcased in, A SONG FOR CESAR.  The film is apart of the 52nd annual USA FILM FESTIVAL with a special Saturday night screening.  Director Andres Alegria and Abel Sanchez talked with our Gadi Elkon about the music, the movie and the man!

A Song for Cesar, a documentary film by Abel Sanchez and Andres Alegria, presents a unique view of the life and legacy of Cesar Chavez and the farmworker movement. The film tells a previously untold story about the musicians and artists – including Joan Baez, Maya Angelou, and Carlos Santana, among others – who dedicated their time, creativity and even reputations to peacefully advance Cesar Chavez’s movement to gain equality and justice for America’s suffering farmworkers. The documentary also explores other facets of Cesar’s life – from childhood to his final days – revelations that, until now, have not been shared on screen.

A Song for Cesar is at this 52nd USA FILM FESTIVAL this Saturday, April 23rd at 7:30pm at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas, Tx.  The directors, Andres and Abel, will be in attendance along with President of United Farm Workers Arturo Rodriguez, and singer Little Joe Hernandez.

Here is our interview with Filmmakers Andres Alegria and Abel Sanchez:

The film will be released by Juno Films on Amazon Prime and iTunes on June 1st.
