WATER BROTHER is a feature documentary following East Coast legend Sid Abbruzzi as he faces the imminent closure of his iconic surf and skate shop in Newport, Rhode Island. Reflecting on his lifetime dedicated to core culture, the film captures Sid’s passion and commitment to preserving the history. Featuring archival footage, elegant cinematography and personal interviews with culture giants like Tony Hawk, Shepard Fairey, Selema Masekela and more, this film takes viewers on a journey through the evolution of surfing and skating. As Sid approaches 73, WATER BROTHER highlights the impact of the shop’s demolition on the community and serves as a heartfelt tribute to the enduring spirit of surf culture.
