Alamo Drafthouse Announces March 2014 National Programming Theme: Crime Movies

Crime doesn't pay… unless you're a movie studio, in which case movies about crime are perennially profitable! Especially when they're good, and it turns out that some of the best movies ever made happen to be about crime and criminals. This month we're turning our attention to some of our favorite crime movies, including MEMENTO, DIRTY HARRY and CLUE. We also have an interview with the director of a film that I believe will soon be seen as a new crime classic, CHEAP THRILLS. But we're not just getting down into the dirty side of life; this issue also contains an impassioned defense of BRING IT ON. If loving that cheerleading movie is a crime, send us all to the slammer.

By the way, we're also very excited this month about Wes Anderson's new film, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL. We haven't seen it yet, but there are certain filmmakers who compel you to buy a ticket opening night no matter what, and Wes is one of those.
