The Alamo is in love with HER.  Writer/director Spike Jonze's  gorgeous, poignant love story between man and artificial intelligence was chosen as one of the top 10 movies of 2013 by Alamo programmers. The January edition of the Alamo's monthly print magazine, BIRTH.MOVIES.DEATH., also celebrates HER on the cover of the magazine, as well as in the editorial. And now, when the film opens at Alamo locations on January 10, it will be the latest "Drafthouse Recommends" title.

With previous titles that include SPRING BREAKERS and ONLY GOD FORGIVES, the "Drafthouse Recommends" series highlights groundbreaking, innovative, and provocative films that push the boundaries of genre, represent enigmatic subjects or highlight emerging new talent.  Quite simply, these are films the Alamo feels deserve to be seen by as many people as possible — especially on the big screen.

Naturally, the film's premise of a man falling for the voice of a computer operating system in the not-too-distant future also brings to mind the disembodied voice of another, current OS familiar to millions: iPhone's Siri. Alamo reached out to the real live human voice of Siri, Susan Bennett, and asked her to record one of Alamo's famed, exclusive "No Talking, No Texting" in-theater PSAs. The result will play before all screenings of HER throughout the film's run at Alamo locations everywhere.

Just don't ask your own iPhone's Siri about HER or Samantha, the AI played by Scarlett Johansson in the film. Better yet, do. According to reports circulating around the web, Siri is not a fan.
