Austin Film Festival 2017 – A Flashback to Last Year’s Fest

I understand the old rule of not to use flashbacks in your scripts, but this isn't a script!  So instead I hope you'll take a jump back through memory lane to last year's festival and enjoy AFF 2016.  Of course, I started off with Tony Hale and his pimp wool coat.  Now here are my favorite 5 interviews from last year's Austin Film Festival.

First up is a red carpet chat with Writer/Director Robin Swicord.  She is best known for her scripts for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), Memoirs of a Geisha (2005), Practical Magic (1998) and Matilda (1996).   Robin is also the mother of Zoe Kazan.  The talented writer dived back into the director's chair after more than a decade break with last year's Wakefield.  The film played at AFF and Robin was kind enough to chat with us on the Red Carpet for her film.

In the press suite we sat down with young actress, writer and director Elizabeth Guest to chat about her webseries sensation GUEST APPEARANCES. The show took home a Jury Award from AFF 2016 and Elizabeth was awesome enough to sit and chat with us.

I saw a gritty gangster film about a wild ass drug dealer at the Rollins Theater in Austin at AFF 2016.  Suburban Cowboy's lead actor (that bad ass drug dealer) had a long in-depth sit down with us about his career and the film.  Here is a our chat with Actor Frank Raducz Jr.

Young filmmaker Lena Khan's movie The Tiger Hunter is still one of the most intriguing I've ever seen at a film festival.  It was a real pleasure to chat with the talented Writer/Director about the story, her process and much more.

And finally I got to chat with one of my favorite directors!  Jeff Nichols played LOVING at last year's festival and we talked on the Red Carpet for his film.

Check back tomorrow for our first round of Austin Film Festival 2017 Interviews!!!
