Austin Film Festival Announces All Virtual Fest for 2020

Austin Film Festival has announced that its 27th annual Film Festival and Writers Conference will be a completely virtual event including panels and film screenings that will feature leading industry creatives, to be held this October 22nd–29th, 2020.

The Virtual Writers Conference will include the addition of a full day more of panels and workshops, with sessions held from Thursday, October 22nd through Monday, October 26th. Industry insiders such as Lindsay Doran (producer Sense and Sensibility), Scott Frank (writer Get Shorty), Kevin Willmott (cowriter Da 5 Bloods), and Tracey Scott Wilson (writer Respect) will engage in topical industry conversation and speak to their process of turning craft into career. The programming team is committed to providing the same immersive and interactive offerings to its attendees by translating Conference favorites such as the annual Austin Film Festival Pitch Competition and Roundtable sessions to an engaging virtual experience. Additionally, the Conference will include virtual networking opportunities so creatives from all over the world can connect and collaborate.

The Virtual Film Festival will include eight full days of films comprised of marquee premieres and selected films from this year’s competition. Viewers will have the opportunity to tune in live to experience the exciting atmosphere of film premieres or alternatively to enjoy films on demand and on their own schedule.

Austin Film Festival’s Virtual Badge, offered at its lowest price to date, grants its audience access to the event’s five days of panels alongside eight days of films and filmmaker Q&As.

The 2020 Virtual Austin Film Festival & Writers Conference takes place from October 22 through 29, 2020, with more panelist and film announcements to come.
