City of Gold – Interview with Director Laura Gabbert

Director Laura Gabbert has created an ode to Los Angeles the gaze of the city's infamous Pulitzer Prize winning restaurant critic, Jonathan Gold.  Click through for our interview with Laura about her documentary, City of Gold.

Laura and I started our chat by discussing the City of Angels.

I asked Laura whether it was easier to film at home compared to outside of LA.

One element of the film that takes over is the wonderful score by composer Bobby Johnston.  I asked Laura about working with her long-time musical composer.

I asked Laura about working with the great documentary editor, William Haugse.

And I ended our chat by asking about her next project.
