Crossroads of Texas Film Festival – 2016 Lineup

The Crossroads of Texas Film Festival runs from May 18 – 21 in Waxahachie, Texas. The festival started in 2014 as a way to celebrate the town's film history but has expanded to a celebration of Texas films. This year's theme is "Music in Film"and all of the Texas-made films have some tie to music. The lineup includes classics like Selena and Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. But there are some newer films sprinkled in like the independent film Sir Doug and the the Genuine Texas Cosmic Grove

There will also be special appearances from talent that are Texas based or are in the films including Lesley Ann Warren, Rex Linn, Barry Corbin, Barry Tubb, Julio Cedillo, Jason Douglas, Tim McCanlies, Joe Ely, Jack Ingram and more.

Wednesday May 18th:
11:30AM: Luncheon and Panel Discussion on Music in Film (Chautauqua Auditorium, 400 S. Grand) Panelists Joe Ely, Jack Ingram and Bruce Robinson will discuss Music in Film with moderator Gary Cogill.

3PM: SELENA, (Texas Theater, 110 W. Main)
 
6:30PM: A DAY AT DADA: RONNIE DAWSON AND FRIENDS (Chautauqua Auditorium) 

7:00PM: SIR DOUG AND THE GENUINE TEXAS COSMIC GROOVE (Chautauqua Auditorium) Q&A Following with film maker Joe Nick Patoski. Check out the Selig interview with filmmaker. 
 

Thursday, May 19th:

5AM-10AM: LIVE BROADCAST WITH THE WAKE UP WITH THE WOLF SHOW (Texas Theater, 110 W. Main) Radio broadcast, part of 99.5 The Wolf's "Texas Towns We Love" series. Broadcast includes Wolf personalities, the Spirit of Waxahachie band, and free cup of coffee and pastry from FRESH Market (while supplies last).

11AM: BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS (Texas Theater, 110 W. Main) Q&A Following with guests Barry Corbin and Jack Frost Sanders, moderated by Lisa Taylor of 99.5 The Wolf.
