DEAD SKIN – Interviews with Wri/Act Laniekka Denne, Actress Ashlee Juergens and Producer Jessica Orcsik

Dead Skin is told from the perspective of seventeen-year-old Andie.  Award-winning Playwright Laneikka Denne, Actress Ashlee Juergens, and Executive Producer Jessica Orcsik talked with our Gadi Elkon about the play, the journey and the family.

A hybrid text of queer and hetero “love” stories challenging what it truly means to love and be loved; at seventeen. It is a coming-of-age story of a mother and daughter navigating the toxicity of their own relationships, searching for the truest form of love; an inherent maternal connection. Written and starring State Theatre Company x Flinders University Young Playwright’s Award winner Laneikka Denne and Directed by Stage Scene LA’s Outstanding Direction Award Peter Blackburn; this coming-of-age play runs through Hollywood Fringe Festival Saturday, June 25, 2022.

In our conversation, Ashlee and Laneikka discuss the transition from Australia to America, the addition of Director Peter Blackburn, their friendship from this production, and much more!

Here is our chat with Actress Ashlee Juergens and Writer/Actress Laneikka Denne:

Executive Producer Jessica Orcsik and I talked about her family legacy, her own journey, finding Dead Skin/Laneikka and much more!
