Drafthouse Films, the film distribution arm of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas, will bring Joshua Oppenheimer's critically-acclaimed, Oscar®-nominated The Act Of Killing back to big screen in multiple markets beginning February 7th, 2014. In addition to having the film play in various markets across the country, director Joshua Oppenheimer will also be appearing for Q&As in Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco and Palm Springs. Fans can also purchase, rent and connect with The Act Of Killing at www.actofkilling.com.

While recently released on DVD/Blu-ray, various Video OnDemand and digital platforms including iTunes, Amazon Instant Video and Netflix, The Act of Killing initially opened theatrically in July of 2013, breaking box office records. Drafthouse Films will re-release the film due to popular demand and curiosity after numerous year-end awards and top-ten lists.

"We are deeply grateful. This nomination is an honor for us as filmmakers," says director Joshua Oppenheimer, "but for the survivors and victims it is a crucial first step in their country's acknowledgement of a moral catastrophe – the horror of the genocide and the on-going regime of fear and corruption built by the killers. May it also be a first step toward healing."

"The Act Of Killing is a landmark release for us," says Drafthouse Films CEO Tim League, "and we are honored to have the Academy recognize this truly one-of-a-kind achievement in the documentary form. We are also gratified to be associated with a film that has already sparked important change in Indonesia."

Directed by Joshua Oppenheimer, executive produced by Werner Herzog and Errol Morris, and produced by Signe Byrge Sørensen, The Act Of Killing ventures deep into the imagination of former Indonesian death squad leaders who are challenged to reenact their real-life mass killings in the style of the American movie they love; including classic Hollywood crime scenarios and lavish musical numbers.

The film has won over 50 awards internationally, appeared on over 40 official top ten lists including The New York Times, TIME, and New York Magazine, and has been championed by critics including NPR, which calls the film "astonishing and brilliant" and CNN, which says the film is a "radical development in the documentary form and as an explosive journalistic expose."
