DUCKTALES: DESTINATION ADVENTURE! – A DVD Review by John Strange

Disney animation has a special place in the hearts of America.  Since we were young ones we have watched Mickey and Minnie, Donald and Uncle Scrooge, and all of the rest have entertained us.  DuckTales is a series of TV shorts (cartoons) that began running in 1987.  The series  stars are Uncle Scrooge McDuck and his grandnephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie.  They and their close friends have adventures and we get to go along.

The new release on DVD, DuckTales: Destination: Adventure!, gives us seven episodes from the reboot of the series that premiered in 2017 (plus two classic episodes).  The stories remind me why I always liked these cartoons.  They are enjoyable to watch as they present a solid family that aren't afraid to goof around with each other and have fun until it's time to get serious.  The trio of brothers, sometimes with their Uncle Scrooge and Launchpad McQuack (Scrooge's pilot) but pretty much always accompanied by Webbigail "Webby" Vanderquack, face their adventures together as a team.

These are fun episodes to watch for me.  I know that the kids in your household will love them.  The adventures will take them from junkyards to the peak (almost) of Mt. Neverrest!  The action will never get scary but will give the kids a thrill as they watch them.  This DVD will give the kids nearly 3 hours of pleasurable watching time.

One note for those of you who are long term fans.  The artwork for the reboot is not exactly the same as the original.  It bothered me at first but it soon blended into the background and disappeared from my conscious notice.  I gave it a lot of thought but decided that the difference in the look of the trio of young ducks didn't bother me.  This is a BRAND NEW on our scale.
