What we need in this world is an action movie star winning the American Presidency. In Heads of State, Will Derringer (John Cena), that action star, has been elected to office by a overwhelming margin over his opponent. He and his family have flown to Great Britain to meet with the British Prime Minister Sam Clarke (Idris Elba).
The two leaders are scheduled to attend a NATO Summit in Trieste, Italy. Derringer is talked into offering Clarke a ride aboard Air Force One. This sounds simple until the bad guys manage to shoot the Air Force One down.
Only the two leaders reach the ground safely. Now the real fun begins as the two men bicker their way to their appointment to save the world as we know it. We have lots of guns, fist fights, and explosions. And one very hot MI-6 agent, Noel Bisset (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), backing them up.
The CIA also got into this game. Watch for Jack Quaid as Marty Comer. If I had had a role in this movie, this is the character I would have wanted to play!
Paddy Considine is arms dealer Viktor Gradov. He is worthy of being a James Bond villain. The man and his goons just don’t give up!
You’ll see some parts of Europe that don’t make it into travel guides. But the scenery takes a distinct second place to the action, as it should.
This is the type of movie I look forward to every summer. A adventure film with good action sequences spiced with lots of humor. And bad puns.
I had a lot of laughs watching this film. It won’t win any awards, but it will liven up your attitude for a while, letting you forget what’s happening outside of your living room.
