LUCIFER: THE SIXTH AND FINAL SEASON – A DVD and Digital HD Review by John Strange

LUCIFER: THE SIXTH AND FINAL SEASON – A DVD and Digital HD Review by John Strange

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post.  The opinions I share are my own.

Lucifer was a TV series that took the idea of the Devil, aka Lucifer Morningstar, aka the fallen angel (Tom Ellis), escaping Hell and living a decadent life in Los Angeles, California, and ran with it.  The idea that the bon vivant would use his talents to assist the LAPD in the person of Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) worked very well, giving us some great episodes.

For six seasons we were allowed to watch the pair solve crimes and bond, falling in love.  The duo was joined by one of Lucifer’s brother angels, Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside), and a demon, Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt), plus several colorful individuals from the police department and a psychiatrist.

This series was a load of fun to watch.  And they were given the chance most series don’t get.  Their last season, number 6, allowed the characters to bring their personal stories to a great resolution.  For me, I loved the way the showrunners and writers closed out their individual story arcs.

I only wish the bonus extras associated with this DVD offering were up to the season’s caliber.  This show’s seasonal gag reel and deleted scene offerings were never worth watching.  Sadly, season six’s offerings were absolute4ly deficient, too.

Lucifer: The Sixth and Final Season is a 5-star romp.  The extras?  I will be nice and give them a 1-star rating.
