Our Gadi Elkon got to chat with Director Catherine Hardwicke and Actress Monica Bellucci about their upcoming Bleecker Street feature film, MAFIA MAMMA.
Catherine Hardwicke’s new action-comedy, MAFIA MAMMA, starring Toni Collette and Monica Bellucci. MAFIA MAMMA is a hilarious, action-packed comedy about a suburban American woman who inherits her grandfather’s Mafia empire, and guided by the Firm’s trusted consigliere defies everyone’s expectations, including her own, as the new head of the family business.
Catherine and Gadi were able to talk about the greatness of Toni Collette, getting to utilize some familiar key crew, and capturing Rome in the most wonderful cinematic way. Mafia Mamma allowed Catherine to explore her comedic side in a way not seen since her production designer days. The Texas born director also got to talk about the importance of strong female presences on and off the screen.
