Filmmaker Meriem Sakrouhi spoke with our Gadi Elkon about Meriem’s personal short film, MON TAXI, that premiered at the 2026 Tribeca Film Festival.
When the person you call every day disappears, where does your voice go?
Mon Taxi is the personal tribute to filmmaker Meriem Sakrouhi’s late father. The 8 minute short film compiles voicemails to highlight her connection to her Dad. Meriem spoke with Gadi about how this never was meant to be a released idea. Meriem expanded on the serendipitous conversation she had at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival and how it helped make this film possible.
Here is our chat with Filmmaker Meriem Sakrouhi:
The film is about to play at Flickers’ Rhode Island Film Festival on August 5th and than on August 16th at HollyShorts Film Festival.
