Jason Statham is well known for his variety of action films. The action in his films involves a lot of fighting and a fast pace that can leave some filmgoers behind. Mutiny packs all of this in a neat package that takes us from Bangkok, Thailand to the high seas aboard a container ship.
Cole Reed is the bodyguard of the CEO of a shipping line who is ambushed and killed. Then Cole is accused of being behind the ambush.
Cole isn’t as interested in clearing his name as he is in finding out who ordered the hit and what is behind it all.
His investigation takes him aboard one of the line’s ships loaded with containers and headed for the US. His discoveries lead him into conflict with the captain and sailors on the ship. And guess who wins?
The women at my screening were all going on and on about how much they enjoyed watching it. The majority of the men were talking about the level of violence. Mutiny is a typical Statham flick, filled with rough fights and ample amounts of blood. It was a fun watch.
Sadly, I also had to agree with the guys about the violence level. I dropped the rating down by half a star to account for the violence.
