PIANOFORTE – Interview with Filmmaker Jakub Piatek

Delightful and delicate documentary PIANOFORTE dives into the International Chopin Piano Competition which is held every 5 years.  Filmmaker Jakub Piatek talked with our Gadi Elkon about his team, the time immersed into the competition and the amazing people they connected with in the film.

The world’s most talented young pianists compete in the International Chopin Piano Competition, held every five years in Warsaw, Poland. A rare behind the scenes look at the triumphant highs and crushing lows of competition, Pianoforte is both a testament to the remarkable power of music and an intimate coming-of-age portrait.

Jakub and Gadi talked about the way in which they planned the lengthy shoot and about the team assembled to make this all possible.  Jakub talked about the contestants and other folks met through the process.  Here is our interview with Filmmaker Jakub Piatek.
