SESAC Performing Rights hosted its annual Film & Television Composer Awards
at the Casa del Mar in Santa Monica, Calif., on Wednesday, June 4. A group of the industry’s top executives, publishers, and composers came together for the invitation-only event. The awards dinner honored SESAC PRO’s top composers in the categories of film, network television, local television, cable television, and streaming media.

“It’s a privilege to celebrate our incredibly talented composers,” said Erin Collins, SESAC PRO’s Senior Vice President of TV/Film Creative Services. “We enjoy bringing everyone together to acknowledge the dedication and passion they pour into each project.”

Laura Karpman was honored for her critically acclaimed score for the film The Marvels.  Leigh Roberts had a special mention for his Emmy nomination in the category Outstanding Music Composition (Documentary) for his score to Mafia Spies on Paramount+. Composers Jeff Lippencott, Mark T. Williams, Danny Lux, and Jason Halbert took home awards for their compositions on hit shows like Shark Tank, Grey’s Anatomy, The Kelly Clarkson Show and more.

Collins also announced that funding for SESAC’s film-score grant program “Reel Change” has been extended for three more years, guaranteeing additional grants for under-represented composers. Additional information can be found at NewMusicUSA.org.
