The USA Film Festival announces the inauguration of a new program, the 5-DAY FILM QUEST, a race-style filmmaking event for short films, which will take place in Dallas on March 25-30, 2014.
“The USA Film Festival has showcased short films for over four decades, and our National Short Film Competition is now 36 years old” said Festival Managing Director, Ann Alexander. “This year, we wanted to add a fun filmmaking factor that not only celebrates short films, but also gives local aspiring and professional filmmakers the opportunity to complete a film with adequate time to work and get some sleep.”
The Festival has recruited veteran race producer Raine Devries as Quest Coordinator to manage the program. “Texas is rich in filmmaking talent and it is so exciting to know that these completed short works will screen in the Festival’s prestigious annual showcase,” said Devries.
The contest will award a $500 cash prize for the “Best of the Quest”, selected by a local jury of experts, and all submissions will be screened during the 44th Annual USA Film Festival,
April 23-27, 2014, at the Angelika Film Center, 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, Texas. Registration is limited and opens on March 10.
