Vaneast Pictures founded by Danielle Gasher has acquired the international sales rights for the upcoming horror film, The Confession starring Italia Ricci (Designated Survivor), Scott Mechlowicz (Euro Trip), Zachary Golinger (Barry) and Terence Rosemore (Superman). The Confession is written and directed by Will Canon, whose previous credits include the South By Southwest Audience Award Winner, Brotherhood, and James Wan-produced, Demonic.

A musician and her son move back to her childhood home where she discovers a recording of her deceased father confessing to a shocking murder, he claims to have committed to protect himself from an unknown evil force. As her son exhibits increasingly unsettling behavior, she becomes desperate to stop the evil. The Confession is based on the terrifying folktale of The Pied Piper.

“The Confession is a chilling reimagining of the Pied Piper legend anchored by a haunting performance from Italia Ricci. We are thrilled to bring this film to market at TIFF,” said Danielle Gasher, Vaneast Pictures.

“Danielle is smart and ambitious and has championed our film since she first saw it. We are beyond excited to be working with Danielle and Vaneast Pictures on The Confession,” said Will Canon.

The Confession is produced by Rosanna Eden-Ellis of Five By Five Films and Executive Produced by Will Canon and Mark Petersen of Three Folks Pictures. Domestic sales are being handled by Kevin Iwashina from Metzger Iwashina Media.
