Our Gadi Elkon talked with Filmmaker Michael Fiore and Owners/Subjects Tom Birchard and Jason Birchard of famous NYC restaurant VESELKA.
As the second generation owner of New York’s beloved Ukrainian restaurant Veselka reluctantly retires after 54 years, his son Jason faces the pressure of stepping into his father’s shoes as the war in Ukraine impacts his family and staff.
Michael, Tom and Jason talked about the urgency of the film with the war in Ukraine and how it impacts the legacy of the restaurant. The trio also shared stories and favorite recipes from VESELKA as well as explained the full title of the documentary.
