Filmmaker Macabit Abramson first narrative feature film is WOMAN ALIVE. The movie stars her real life daughter, Lihi Zemel, as a 30 year old married Israeli woman who has a harrowing journey through the slums of Tel Aviv. Macabit and Lihi both talked with me about their working relationship, the importance of a female driven story and so much more!
A visual journey of one woman’s path to freedom and self-discovery. Shlomit, a thirty year old woman living in Jerusalem leaves the sheltered life she shares with her loving husband and little daughter. Drifting along the sidelines of society, she finally finds her heart’s calling as an artist and woman.
WOMAN ALIVE is currently apart of Cinequest Film Festival’s virtual edition CINEJOY which lasts until November 14th.
