WORLD PREMIERE OF DALLAS FILMMAKER’S FIRST FEATURE NARRATIVE CALLED THE GHOST LIGHTS, SHOT IN 10 DAYS DURING THE PANDEMIC

Dallas Filmmaker Timothy Stevens wrote, directed, edited, and shot his first feature narrative during the pandemic with a small group of Dallas-based artists. The Ghost Lights world premieres at the Lone Star Film Festival on Friday, November 12, 2021, 8 p.m. at the Downtown Cowtown at the Isis Theater. Tickets are available here: https://www.goelevent.com/LSFF/e/TheGhostLights

In mid 2019, Stevens was helping develop a paranormal docu-reality show, and the pilot was going to be about the Marfa Lights. He put in much in-depth research, including interviews with witnesses who claimed to have intense, up-close encounters with the lights. Ultimately, the show was dropped, but the research he did became the inspiration for The Ghost Lights which he wrote within a year ago.

“The Ghost Lights is the culmination of a dream- our first feature film, made during the most challenging year of our lives, during a pandemic, with a crew of 4 people, 10 days, over 1,000 miles from Dallas to Terlingua and back, a new-born at home, and lots of coffee,” said Timothy Stevens.

This narrative feature sci-fi drama was fully funded through Indiegogo, a crowdfunding campaign, raising a little more than $5,000 with most of the funders coming from the Marfa and Terlingua area. It stars DFW-based artists including Billy Blair, Katreeva Phillips and John Francis McCullagh. Stevens is a filmmaker favorite at the Lone Star Film Festival. This is his third film and the others included a narrative short film called The Resurrectionist (2016) and a documentary feature film called Let’er Buck (2018).

The film’s second screening will be at the Starlight Theatre (631 Ivey Rd, Terlingua, TX 79852) on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 9 p.m. Free admission for this West Texas premiere and reservations will be available on the Starlight Theatre’s website.
