AVENGERS: ENDGAME – A Review by John Strange

When I was very young in a time many, many years ago, I fell in love with comic books.  I was introduced to them by my older brother.  As I grew older I was to go on to attend conventions where I met many of the artists and writers responsible for these amazing stories.  The only thing that disappointed me was that no one could really bring these stories to the big screen at my local theater.

And then came Iron Man starring Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark. Wow!  Someone was finally on the right track!  Since that day in May, 2008, I have experienced what has come to be called the MCU, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as film after film blew me away!  with each new film, each new character, I fell more and more in love with this adventure!

Jumping to today and the release of Avengers: Endgame, I have to say that the writers, directors (thank you, Anthony and Joe Russo!), producers, the awesome cast, and film crews have given us a film that has a little of everything.  I am forbidden (with good reason) from revealing any story points/plot lines but what I can say is that this film does just what they said it would (and how often does THAT happen?).

When you sit in that theater seat, get comfortable because the wild ride that lasts three hours.  Yes, THREE HOURS.  And every minute is needed to get this story told.  You will laugh, you will cry.  You will feel for our heroes with so many emotions as they do what they were put into this universe to do.

No one hero steals the thunder from the others.  The team works together better than ever, the team dynamic that was damaged by egos is repaired.

I have heard questions about the viability of this franchise.  This film should silence all of them.  The MCU is strong and vibrant and ready to bring us more stories for years to come.

Two things to remember.  Life brings us no guarantees.  And if you foolishly bring a drink into the theater, you will miss some of the action when you have to take that bathroom break.

If you like (or love) the MCU that Kevin Feige and all of the amazing cast and crews have given us, you MUST go see this film!  Avengers: Endgame is the best one to date!
