Today is opening day of Slamdance Film Festival 2023. A part of the Breakout Selection Feature Film category is THE UNDERBUG. The film will have its World Premiere tomorrow evening. Our Gadi Elkon talked with Co-Writer/Director Shujaat Saudagar, Co-Writer/Star Hussain Dalal & Star Ali Fazal.
As India is ravaged by sectarian violence on the eve of its Independence Day, two rioters take refuge in an abandoned house. An eerie presence in the house, however, haunts the men to the edge of sanity.
Shujaat, Hussain, and Ali talked with me about the unique location, the freedom of this film, and the importance of telling this story.
