THE DOG DOC – Interview with Director Cindy Meehl

Award-winning filmmaker Cindy Meehl first captured our hearts when she introduced us to the soulful maverick that is Buck Brannaman in the award winning doc, BUCK.  Meehl has another soulful maverick she’d love to introduce you to.  The Dog Doc is about veterinarian Marty Goldstein and how his avantgarde ways are changing the vet world one little pooch at a time.

Empathy is a really difficult emotion to capture on screen and yet Meehl seems to do it with every character she introduces us to.  Her films have an amazing ability to connect our preconceived notions with a new more heartfelt look at the world.  Thus her documentaries are truly life altering works that do more than just showcase a wild maverick figure.  After witnessing these movies you are slightly changed and hopefully forever impacted.  The Dog Doc is just another fine example of filmmaker Cindy Meehl’s honest heart.

An hour and 41 minutes of your time is all you need to dive into the world of The Dog Doc and the vets who help save the animals that are nearest death’s door.

Cindy was kind enough to chat with Selig Film News about her this new doc, it’s connective lineage to the BUCK doc, and so much more!!!
